About Lauryl Myristate
Lauryl Myristate is the ester of lauryl alcohol and myristic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and reduce hair tangling and roughness for a smoother finish.[2] It is also used to leave the skin's surface soft and smooth.[2]
