About Laurtrimonium Chloride

Laurtrimonium Chloride is a quaternary ammonium salt.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that can cause hair strands to lift or stick together, to form evenly mixed emulsions of water and oil, and to inhibit the growth of microorganisms in the product, helping slow deterioration during storage.[3] In Europe, when used as a preservative, it is permitted at up to 0.1%.[2]
