Lauroyl Methylglucamide Laurate is an ester in which portions derived from an acid and an alcohol are bonded.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help manage oiliness caused by sebum and scalp and skin condition, reduce friction on the skin or hair and provide a smooth feel, and attract moisture into the formula and skin surface to help maintain hydration.[2] It is also used to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth and to help protect the skin from external factors.[2]
