About Laureth-2 Acetate
Laureth-2 Acetate is an ester in which an acid-derived portion is bonded to an alcohol-derived portion.[1] The number 2 at the end of the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; it changes the balance between water-loving and oil-loving portions, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and sensory feel. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and to leave the skin surface soft and smooth.[1]
