About Laneth-5
Laneth-5 is the polyethylene glycol ether of ethoxylated lanolin alcohol with an average of 5 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth, and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2] It is also used to control the formulation’s viscosity and flow.[2]
