About Isostearic Acid

Isostearic Acid is a mixture of branched-chain aliphatic acids containing 18 carbon atoms.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help ingredients in the formulation bind together and maintain their form, help sebum and impurities wash away with water, and create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
