About Isopropyl Benzoate

Isopropyl Benzoate is the ester of isopropyl alcohol and benzoic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to add fragrance to products or adjust the natural odor of raw materials and to slow deterioration during storage by inhibiting the growth of microorganisms in products.[3] In Europe, when used as a preservative, it is permitted at up to 0.5% (based on acid content).[2]
