About Isobutylated Lanolin Oil

Isobutylated Lanolin Oil is a partial ester of lanolin oil and isobutyric acid.[1] Because the fatty constituents obtained from isobutylated lanolin are predominant, it mixes better with oil than with water and is suitable for adding slip and a supple feel to the skin or hair while reducing the sensation of moisture evaporating quickly. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, reduce friction and add a smooth feel to the skin or hair, and reduce tangling and roughness to help condition hair smoothly.[2] It is also used to condition the skin surface to feel soft and smooth.[2]
