About Hydroxyethylcellulose

Hydroxyethylcellulose is a modified cellulose polymer with hydroxyethyl side chains.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help ingredients in a formulation bind together and maintain its form, keep emulsions of water and oil from separating easily, and form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application.[2] It is also used to help keep the formulation's state and properties from changing easily during storage and to control its viscosity and flow.[2]
