About Hydroxyethyl Ethylcellulose

Hydroxyethyl Ethylcellulose is the ethylene glycol ester of ethylcellulose.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help ingredients in a formula bind together and maintain its form, create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and help prevent the emulsion from separating easily.[2] It is also used to form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application and to control the viscosity and flow of a formula.[2]
