Hydrolyzed Silk is the hydrolysate of silk protein obtained through acid, enzyme, or other hydrolysis methods.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or cling together, to reduce tangling and rough texture for smoother, more manageable hair, and to attract water to the formula and skin surface to help maintain moisture.[2] It is also used to leave the skin surface soft and smooth.[2]
