Hydrolyzed Keratin is a raw material obtained by hydrolyzing keratin with acids, enzymes, or other methods.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together; to form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application; and to reduce tangling and a rough feel, leaving hair smooth and manageable.[2] It is also used to attract moisture to the formula and skin surface to help maintain hydration, and to leave the skin surface soft and smooth.[2]
