About Hydrogenated Tallowamine

Hydrogenated Tallowamine is an amine obtained from hydrogenated tallow.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to help prevent the formulation’s state and properties from changing easily during storage.[3] It is also used to lower surface tension so that raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly, and to adjust the viscosity and flow of formulations.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of finished products is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and the nitrosamine content must not exceed 50 μg/kg.[2]
