About Hydrated Silica

Hydrated Silica is an inorganic oxide.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to physically remove deposits from the skin or tooth surface, absorb liquids such as water or oil in a formula, and help powder ingredients flow evenly without hardening into lumps.[2] It is also used to increase the volume of a formula and adjust the amount of solids, reduce light transmission so the contents appear less translucent, and control the viscosity and flow of the formula.[2]
