About Hexylene Glycol

Hexylene Glycol is an aliphatic alcohol.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, add fragrance to products or adjust the inherent odor of raw materials, and leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to dissolve other ingredients to create a uniform formulation and reduce surface tension so that ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
