About Glycol Stearate
Glycol Stearate is an ester of ethylene glycol and stearic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on skin or hair and add a smooth feel, create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and reduce light transmission so the contents appear less visible through the product.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
