About Glycine
Glycine is an amino acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, buffer the formulation so its acidity does not change rapidly, and reduce hair tangling and rough texture to leave it soft and well-groomed.[3] It is also used to leave the skin surface soft and smooth.[3] It is described as a white crystal, so identifying whether it dissolves in water or oil first and then dissolving or dispersing it in the appropriate phase makes it easier to create a uniform formulation.[2]
