About Glycereth-7 Caprylate/Caprate

Glycereth-7 Caprylate/Caprate is an ester of a polyethylene glycol ether of glycerin to which an average of 7 moles of ethylene oxide has been added, and a mixture of caprylic acid and capric acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly blended, to increase the amount of foam and help it remain stable, and to reduce hair tangling and roughness for smoother, more manageable hair.[2] It is also used to leave the skin's surface soft and smooth and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
