About Glutaral
Glutaral is a dialdehyde.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to inhibit the growth of microorganisms in products and slow deterioration during storage.[4] In South Korea, it may be used at up to 0.1%, but it cannot be used in aerosol products (sprays only).[2] In Europe, it is permitted at up to 0.1% when used as a preservative.[3] However, it cannot be used in aerosol spray products.[3]
