About Ginsenoside Rh4
Ginsenoside Rh4 is a saponin isolated from ginseng.[1] The Rh4 at the end of the name is an identifying symbol distinguishing different ginsenosides; it does not indicate content or rank of efficacy. Differences in the number and positions of attached sugars determine how readily it mixes with water and how it behaves in a formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to help reduce the formation or visibility of dandruff on the scalp, slow the oxidation of formulation ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen, and leave the skin's surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to help protect the skin from external factors.[2]
