About Ginsenoside Rg6
Ginsenoside Rg6 is a saponin isolated from ginseng.[1] The Rg6 at the end of the name is an identifying marker that distinguishes different ginsenosides; it does not indicate an amount or efficacy ranking. Differences in the number and position of attached sugars determine how readily it mixes with water and how it behaves in a formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to slow the oxidation of formula ingredients caused by reaction with oxygen, leave the skin surface soft and smooth, and help protect the skin from external factors.[2]
