About Ginsenoside Rg4
Ginsenoside Rg4 is a saponin isolated from ginseng.[1] The Rg4 at the end of the name is an identifying symbol used to distinguish different ginsenosides; it does not indicate content or a ranking of efficacy. Differences in the number and position of attached sugars determine water miscibility and behavior in the formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to slow the oxidation of formulation ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen.[2]
