About Ghatti Gum
Ghatti Gum is a gum obtained by drying an exudate from stems and bark.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help formula ingredients bind together and maintain their form, to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to help prevent the emulsified mixture of water and oil from separating easily.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly, and to adjust the viscosity and flow of the formulation.[2]
