About Ethanolamine Thioglycolate
Ethanolamine Thioglycolate is a salt of ethanolamine and thioglycolic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to remove hair from the skin’s surface, help change the shape of hair in products that create waves or straighten hair, and trigger reactions that reduce other ingredients.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content in the finished product is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and the nitrosamine content must not exceed 50 μg/kg.[2]
