About Ethanolamine

Ethanolamine is a monoamine.[1] The physical properties and sensory characteristics of a finished product containing Ethanolamine may vary according to the concentration, accompanying ingredients, formula acidity, and manufacturing conditions. In cosmetics, it is used to buffer the formula so its acidity does not change rapidly.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of finished products is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and nitrosamine content must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
