About Epoxidized Soybean Oil
Epoxidized soybean oil is a modified oil obtained by epoxidizing soybean oil.[1] Because it is primarily composed of fatty components derived from epoxidized soybean oil, it mixes better with oils than with water. It is suitable for adding slip and a flexible feel to skin or hair while helping reduce the feeling of moisture evaporating quickly. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on skin or hair, add a smooth feel, and provide flexibility so films or polymer layers do not become excessively rigid.[2]
