About Distearyldimethylamine Dilinoleate

Distearyldimethylamine Dilinoleate is a diamine salt of dilinoleic acid and dimethylstearamine.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and to smooth hair by reducing tangling and rough feel.[3] In Europe, it is permitted at up to 2.5% in leave-on products; no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
