About Disodium Wheat Germamido Mea-Sulfosuccinate
Disodium Wheat Germamido Mea-Sulfosuccinate is the disodium salt of a substituted ethanolamide half-ester of sulfosuccinic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, increase the amount of foam and help it resist collapsing, and help water-insoluble ingredients disperse more evenly in the water phase.[3] It is also used to reduce surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of the finished product is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and the nitrosamine content must not exceed 50 μg/kg.[2]
