About Disodium Undecylenamido PEG-2 Sulfosuccinate

Disodium Undecylenamido PEG-2 Sulfosuccinate is the disodium salt of the ethoxylated monoundecylenyl amide of a sulfosuccinic acid half ester.[1] The number 2 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; with the same base structure, changing this number can also change water compatibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formula. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, increase the amount of foam and help it remain stable, and help ingredients that do not dissolve well in water disperse more evenly in the aqueous phase.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
