About Disodium Tallowiminodipropionate
Disodium Tallowiminodipropionate is the disodium salt of a substituted propionic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, help sebum and dirt wash away with water, and reduce hair tangling and roughness for smoother grooming.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2] It primarily has the following structure, in which R is an alkyl group derived from tallow.[1]
