About Disodium Tallowamido Mea-Sulfosuccinate

Disodium Tallowamido Mea-Sulfosuccinate is the disodium salt of a substituted ethanolamide half ester of sulfosuccinic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, increase the amount of foam and help it last, and help ingredients that are poorly soluble in water disperse more evenly in the aqueous phase.[3] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of the finished product is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and the nitrosamine content must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
