Disodium Ricinoleamido Mea-Sulfosuccinate is the disodium salt of a substituted ethanolamide half ester of sulfosuccinic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, increase the amount of foam and help it persist, and help water-insoluble ingredients disperse more evenly in the aqueous phase.[2] It is also used to leave the skin surface soft and smooth, and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
