About Disodium PPG-2-Isodeceth-7 Carboxyamphodiacetate
Disodium PPG-2-Isodeceth-7 Carboxyamphodiacetate is an amphoteric organic compound.[1] The number 2 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units. Together with the type of fatty component attached, this number affects how well it mixes with oils and its application feel. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, increase the amount of foam and help it resist collapsing, and reduce tangling and rough feel in hair for smoother conditioning.[2] It also helps water-insoluble ingredients disperse more evenly in the water phase and lowers surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
