About Disodium PEG-4 Cocamido Mipa-Sulfosuccinate
Disodium PEG-4 Cocamido Mipa-Sulfosuccinate is the disodium salt of the ethoxylated and substituted isopropanolamide half-ester of sulfosuccinic acid.[1] The number 4 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same base structure, changing this number may also change water compatibility and the formulation's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, increase the amount of foam and help it last longer, and help ingredients that do not dissolve well in water disperse more evenly in the water phase.[2] It is also used to reduce surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
