About Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate

Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate is the disodium salt of the lauryl alcohol half-ester of sulfosuccinic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, increase the amount of foam and help it last longer, and form foam during use.[2] It is also used to help ingredients that do not dissolve readily in water disperse more evenly in the water phase, leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth, and reduce surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
