About Disodium Lauroamphodiacetate

Disodium Lauroamphodiacetate is an amphoteric organic compound.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, help sebum and impurities wash away with water, and increase the amount of foam and help it resist collapsing.[2] It is also used to form foam during use, reduce hair tangling and rough feel for smoother conditioning, and help ingredients that do not dissolve well in water disperse more evenly in the aqueous phase.[2] It is used to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and disperse evenly, and to control the viscosity and flow of the formulation.[2]
