About Disodium Lauramido PEG-2 Sulfosuccinate
Disodium Lauramido PEG-2 Sulfosuccinate is the disodium salt of the monolauramide of the diglycol half ester of sulfosuccinic acid.[1] The number 2 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formulation's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, increase the amount of foam and help it last longer, and generate foam during use.[2] It is also used to help poorly water-soluble ingredients disperse more evenly in the water phase, leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth, and reduce surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
