About Disodium Isostearyl Sulfosuccinate

Disodium Isostearyl Sulfosuccinate is the disodium salt of the half ester of isostearyl alcohol and sulfosuccinic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help rinse sebum and impurities away with water, increase the amount of foam and help it last longer, and form foam during use.[2] It is also used to help water-insoluble ingredients disperse more evenly in the water phase, leave the skin’s surface soft and smooth, and lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
