About Disodium Decyl Phenyl Ether Disulfonate

Disodium Decyl Phenyl Ether Disulfonate is the disodium salt of the product formed by the reaction of sulfonated diphenyl ether and alpha-decene.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and help ingredients that do not dissolve readily in water disperse more evenly in the water phase.[2] It is also used to reduce surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and disperse evenly.[2]
