Disodium Cocoamphodipropionate is an amphoteric organic compound.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water; to increase the amount of foam and help it last longer; and to reduce tangling and rough feel in hair for a smoother finish.[2] It is also used to help ingredients that do not dissolve well in water disperse more evenly in the water phase, to leave the skin's surface feeling soft and smooth, and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
