About Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate

Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate is an amphoteric organic compound.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help rinse away sebum and impurities with water, increase the amount of foam and help it remain stable, and reduce hair tangling and roughness to leave it smooth. It is also used to help water-insoluble ingredients disperse more evenly in the aqueous phase, leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth, and lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and disperse evenly.[2] It is primarily a fatty acid derived from coconut oil.[1] [2]
