About Disodium Cetearyl Sulfosuccinate

Disodium Cetearyl Sulfosuccinate is the disodium salt of the half ester of sulfosuccinic acid and cetearyl alcohol.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and increase the amount of foam and help it remain stable. It is also used to create foam during use, help ingredients that are poorly soluble in water disperse more evenly in the aqueous phase, and leave the skin surface soft and smooth.[2] It is used to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and disperse evenly.[2] [2]
