About Dimethyl Palmitamine

Dimethyl Palmitamine is a tertiary aliphatic amine.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static that causes hair strands to lift or cling to one another, create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and reduce tangling and rough feel in hair, leaving it feeling smooth.[3] In Europe, the maximum level is 2.5% in leave-on products; no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
