About Dimethyl Lauramine Oleate

Dimethyl Lauramine Oleate is a salt of oleic acid and dimethyl lauramine.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, reduce tangling and roughness to condition hair smoothly, and leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[3] It is also used to control the viscosity and flow of a formula.[3] In Europe, the maximum level is 2.5% in leave-on products, while no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no higher than 50 μg/kg.[2]
