About Dimethyl Lauramine Isostearate
Dimethyl Lauramine Isostearate is a salt of isostearic acid and dimethyl lauramine.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on skin or hair and add a smooth feel, help keep water-and-oil emulsions from separating easily, and reduce tangling and roughness in hair for smoother conditioning.[3] It is also used to smooth and soften the skin's surface.[3] In Europe, the maximum concentration is 2.5% in leave-on products; no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
