About Dimethicone PEG/PPG-7/4 Phosphate

Dimethicone PEG/PPG-7/4 Phosphate is a partial ester of phosphoric acid with a derivative of dimethicone containing an average of 7 moles of ethylene oxide and 4 moles of propylene oxide.[1] The number 7 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units. Along with the types of fatty components attached, this number affects oil miscibility and application feel. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities be washed away with water, create emulsion formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and lower surface tension so that raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
