About Dimethicone PEG/PPG-12/4 Phosphate

Dimethicone PEG/PPG-12/4 Phosphate is a partial ester of phosphoric acid and a dimethicone derivative containing an average of 12 moles of ethylene oxide and 4 moles of propylene oxide.[1] The number 12 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units; the degree of oil compatibility and application feel vary depending on this number and the type of fatty component attached. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
