About Dimethicone PEG-8 Beeswax

Dimethicone PEG-8 Beeswax is a partial ester of beeswax acids and PEG-8 Dimethicone.[1] The number 8 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formulation’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and reduce tangling and roughness in hair for smoother manageability.[2] It is also used to leave the skin surface soft and smooth and to lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
