About Dimethicone PEG-10 Phosphate

Dimethicone PEG-10 Phosphate is a partial ester of a dimethicone derivative containing an average of 10 moles of ethylene oxide and phosphoric acid.[1] The number 10 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. With the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
