Dimethicone/PEG-10/15 Crosspolymer is a copolymer of dimethicone crosslinked with a mixture of PEG-10 and PEG-15 diallyl ether.[1] The number 10 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. With the same base structure, changing this number can affect water compatibility as well as the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to form a thin film on the skin, hair, and nail surfaces after application, and to reduce light transmission so the contents appear less visible.[2]
